Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has welcomed the state governorship election tribunal dismissing the petition against his victory. The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Sani of the APC winner of the March poll.

Speaking after the tribunal ruled the opposition PDP’s petition was statute-barred, Sani said he expected the outcome based on briefings. He called on PDP’s Isa Ashiru and members to join hands with him in developing Kaduna.

Sani emphasized moving the state forward is most vital. He referenced his May 29th inauguration speech promising an all-inclusive government. The governor expressed confidence that justice was served while urging opponents to unite for the greater good.

Ashiru Vows to Appeal Tribunal Judgment on Kaduna Poll

Isa Ashiru, Kaduna governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, has rejected the election tribunal judgement upholding Governor Uba Sani’s victory. He vowed to appeal the ruling dismissing his petition against the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration of APC’s Sani as winner.

In a statement, Ashiru thanked supporters for believing in him and the PDP. He disputed the tribunal’s decision, stating it was split 2:1 with the majority nullifying Sani’s election and ordering fresh polls in some areas.

While urging calm, Ashiru promised to pursue the appeal process to its logical conclusion. He expressed confidence of securing victory at the end.

The reactions highlight the continued political division despite the tribunal verdict. Ashiru’s determination to override the judgement prolongs uncertainty in Kaduna.
