#OBSCURELEGALFACTS BY AROME ABU
ARREST OF SOLDIERS BY POLICE OFFICERS
In Nigeria, a Police Officer is empowered to arrest a Military personnel who has committed or suspected to have committed an offence.
It is an offence for another Military personnel (a third party) to prevent or obstruct such arrest.
See Section 99 of the Armed Forces Act.
Ironically, it is erroneously believed that the Police is inferior to the Armed Forces.
