British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua is receiving medical care in state-of-the-art Duchess International Hospital in Lagos after surviving a road crash in Ogun State that claimed the lives of his two close associates.

Joshua, 36, survived the crash on Monday in Ogun State, which claimed the lives of his team members Sina Ghami and Kevin “Latif” Ayodele. The boxer sustained injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital for medical attention, where he is reported to be in a stable condition.

He was admitted to the Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, where his promoters, Matchroom Boxing, confirmed he remains in “stable condition” after being rushed there “for checks and treatment”.

Joshua is being cared for at the facility with his mother, Yeta Odusanya, travelling to be with him following the incident. The hospital, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s leading private medical centres, describes itself as a “state-of-the-art, purpose-built, fully ensuite 100-bed hospital facility delivering a comprehensive range of primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services”.

Images of the five-year-old hospital show a luxurious interior with panelled walls, marble flooring and high-end furnishings.

Accommodation at the facility comes at a premium, with its Royal Suites starting from £2,000 per patient.

According to information published by the hospital, the suites include round the clock catering, with three-course meals provided 24 hours a day and tailored to patients’ preferences.

The hospital says it offers a “highly personalised service to our patients, delivering complex care tailored to individual needs”, adding: “Each Duchess Royal suite includes a separate lounge, ensuite bedroom and guest amenities.”
