Air Peace has strongly condemned what it described as the unruly conduct of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North Senatorial District, following a disruption at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 in Lagos on Wednesday morning.

In a statement issued by the airline’s management, Air Peace alleged that Oshiomhole, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), physically assaulted airline staff and obstructed airport operations after missing his scheduled flight to Abuja.

“Air Peace strongly condemns the unruly conduct of a prominent Nigerian politician who disrupted airport operations on the morning of Wednesday, June 11, 2025,” the statement read.

According to the airline, Oshiomhole arrived at the airport around 6:10 a.m. for Flight P47120, which was scheduled to depart Lagos for Abuja at 6:30 a.m. However, the airline noted that the boarding gates had closed in accordance with its on-time departure policy, and the flight took off as scheduled.

“Upon being informed of the missed flight, the politician resorted to violence, physically assaulting our staff and forcefully barricading the terminal’s entrance,” the statement alleged.

The airline further claimed that Oshiomhole sealed the entry gate and personally manned the access point, preventing other passengers from entering the terminal and causing significant disruption to airport operations.

“This unacceptable behavior caused significant disruption to ongoing operations and affected numerous travelers scheduled for various flights,” Air Peace stated.

To mitigate the impact of the incident, Air Peace said it activated an operational contingency plan that allowed affected passengers to be boarded through an alternate terminal, ensuring that their travel plans could proceed.

“We are deeply saddened that such a high-profile figure displayed conduct so unbecoming and disruptive to fellow passengers and our personnel,” the airline said, reaffirming its “zero-tolerance stance on violence or any form of aggression against our staff and passengers.”

As of the time of filing this report, Senator Oshiomhole has not publicly responded to the allegations.
