*Seeks Probe of Ondo Attacks, Warns Peace Under Threat
Senior lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa SAN, has raised an alarm over recent attacks targeting facilities and personnel of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, a federal government surveillance contractor, in Ondo State.
In a press statement on Sunday, Adegboruwa said Tantita Security offices in Ilaje and Ese-Odo LGAs were invaded, ransacked and valuable items carted away. He alleged that one Chief Bilbor Ajube, alias ‘Shoot at Sight’, led armed soldiers to attack the security outfit’s office in Agadagba, threatening to wipe out their operations.
According to the lawyer, Tantita’s coordinator in Ondo, Chief Idowu Asonja, also received death threats from Ajube challenging him to a battle. He however described Asonja as a law-abiding citizen focused on supporting federal government’s pipeline surveillance deal with Tantita Security.
“We call on all security agencies to investigate this disturbing development and call Chief Bilbor Ajube to order so that the peace currently being enjoyed in Ondo State will not be ruptured,” the statement read in part. It also urged Ondo state government to hold Ajube accountable should any harm happen to Asonja.
Adegboruwa said his client has evidence of the invasion and threats which have been submitted to relevant authorities. Tantita Security provides security services for pipelines and facilities of federal government in parts of Niger Delta.
