Adamakin Investment And Works Still Remains Sole Attorney, Says Trustees Of Iyalode Efuriye Tinubu’s Estate, Sobowole Family

The family of Sobowale and Iyalode Efuriye Tinubu’s Estate, have refuted the claim by Lagoon Park Global Resource Ltd that it is the sole Attorney of the estate of Madam Iyalode Efuriye Tinubu.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Sobowale’s family, Sulaiman Sanni, and made available to TheNigeriaLawyer, he noted that the company is out to deliberately cause mischief in a bid to force themselves on the Trustees for the purpose of being appointed as an attorney which entreaties were rejected several times in the past.

They insisted that Adamakin investment and works still remains the sole Attorney of the family and categorically dissociate itself from what it described as “the subterranean and ill-motive activities of Lagoon Park Global Resources Ltd in relation to the Estate of Madam Efuronye Tinubu and the public is hereby warned not to deal with them in relation to any transaction in respect of Madam Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu Estate”

REJOINDER TO THE ONLINE PUBLICATION OF VANGUARD NEWSPAPER OF 16TH APRIL 2021 CAPTIONED PUBLIC NOTICE BY THE PURPORTED OFFICE OF COURT-APPOINTED TRUSTEES OF IYALODE EFURONYE TINUBU ESTATE

The captioned publication above was drawn to the attention of members of Sobowale Family and Trustees of the Estate of Madam Iyalode Efuronye Tinubu which is being circulated in many other media outfits and social media platforms and were compelled to write a rejoinder because of inaccuracies it conveyed.

To put the record straight, Sobowale family is among the two units of the Madam Iyalode Efuronye Tinubu Family that produced the four Trustees appointed by the Court: these are Mr Gabriel Fasetire and Chief Adams Bilade Lahan ( deceased) from Sobowale Family stock and Alh Shittu Adio Kassim Lumosa and Alhaji Shafiu Kassim Lumosa.from Lumosa Family.

The so-called public notice only succeeded in confusing the general public as to the state of management of Estate of our revered Matriarch Madam Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu because they are out to deliberately cause mischief in a bid to force themselves on the Trustees for the purpose of being appointed as attorney which entreaties were rejected several times in the past.

The publication of 16th April, 2021 is part of the sordid campaign of calumny and a filthy desire to force themselves into the affairs of the Estate. By this, we feel it is necessary to offer the following statement to correct the distortions, barefaced lies, misinformation and concocted innuendoes contained in the publication for benefit of the public as follows.

1. That the High Court of Lagos State by an order dated 29th day of April 2002 appointed four Trustees to manage the Estate of Madam Iyalode Efuronye Tinubu. They are
a) Alhaji Shittu Adio Kassim Lumosa
b) Mr Gabriel Fasetire
c) \Chief Adam Bilade Lahan
d) Mr Shafiu kassim Lumosa

2. However Chief Adams Bilade Lahan who is from Sobowole Family died and has been replaced by Mr Rev Musliu Olarewaju Bakare from Sobowole Family to fill in the spot as unanimously agreed at the meeting of the family on the 11th September 2017.

3. As part of its evil machination to continue its push to fragment the family by all means and at all cost, Lagoon Park Global Resource Ltd who has been the masquerade in the game of divide and rule courted one of the member of the family, Mr Temilola Daud Adesanya and ensured that he is appointed as Trustees .to help them opened the elusive lid of appointment as an Attorney to the Estate, and indeed Temilola was surreptitiously appointed by the Court without the consent and approval of the family members and the Trustees upon presentation of false, malicious and misleading information to the Court.

4. Not done with the above, the Lagoon Park Global Resources Ltd organised a phantom press conference in Abeokuta at the weekend where it reiterated its appointment as attorney to the Estate. At the conference, they ensured that Mr Gabriel Fasetire, a member of trustee who had been suffering from mental disorder and lack capacity to discharge his responsibility as trustee was co-opted into the conference to give it air of legitimacy.

5. At no time was Temilola Daud given nod or authorised by the Trustees or members of Sobowole Family who are entitled to present him for appointment to the Trustees or Court to be appointed as one of the Trustees to the Estate to fill in the gap created by the death of Chief Adams Bilade Lahan.

6. There was never a time or meeting of the Trustees at which it was agreed that Lagoon Park Global Resources Ltd be appointed as the sole Attorney or one of the Attorneys to the Estate of the Madam Iyalode Tinubu Estate. They are meddlesome interloper and the Trustees or the entire members of Iyalode Efuronye Tinubu do not transact any business with nor has anything do with them in respect of the management of the Estate of Madam Iyalode Tinubu Estate. Consequently, any purported power of attorney paraded by them or any other person is false, forged, phony or fake and members of public are hereby warned not to place any premium on it.

7. The publication of 16th April 2021 in the Vanguard Newspaper, 13th April, 2021 in The Nation Newspaper and or any other publications in any media outfit by Lagoon Park Global Resource Ltd and its agents purportedly to smear or disparage the sole Attorney appointed by the Trustees Adamakin Investment and works Limited and its promoter, Chief Akinfolabi Akindele in the management of Estate of Estate of Late Madam Efuronye Tinubu had no endorsement or approval or knowledge of the entire family and Trustees of Iyalode Efrunyoye Tinubu Estate, particularly the Sobowole Family.

8. There was never a time or meeting of the Trustees of the Estate where the Power of Attorney granted to Adamakin Investment and works Limited who is the sole Attorney to the Estate and whose appointment was endorsed by the four duly appointed Trustees is revoked. Adamakin Investment and Works Limited is and still remains the only Attorney duly appointed by the Trustees and no other(s). These facts were confirmed by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Alagbon, Lagos by its report of investigation dated 11thFebruary,2016 and other numerous Police Investigation reports.

9. Members of the public are hereby informed that the power of Attorney granted to Adamakin Investment and Works Limited by the Trustees of the Estate of Madam Iyalode Efuriye Tinubu is still subsisting as same was never revoked as being falsely peddle in the various quarters especially in the sponsored media campaign by Lagoon Park Global Resources Ltd, a stranger to the family.

10. We also categorically and unequivocally dissociate ourselves from the subterranean and ill-motive activities of Lagoon Park Global Resources Ltd in relation to the Estate of Madam Efuronye Tinubu and the public is hereby warned not to deal with them in relation to any transaction in respect of Madam Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu Estate.

11. The general public are also informed that the Family or Trustees of the Estate did not at any time appoint Professor Imran Oluwole Smith (SAN) and Mr Kayode Bankole Esq as the legal representatives to the family or Estate. Both eminent legal practitioners were once appointed and had worked for Adamakin Investment and Works Limited in respect of management of the Estate and cannot be seen now wearing two caps or aiding or abetting illegality contrary to their calls as legal practitioners. The family had also instructed Adamakin Investment and Works Limited to henceforth seized further legal relationship with the duo legal practitioners forthwith.
