Adderley a workshop for financial directors, Internal Auditors and other financial officers in the judiciary in Abuja, the NJI Administrator, Justice Rosaline Bozimo said the function of financial officers demands due care, skills diligence and prudence of your duties. She therefore urged them to uphold the ethics of the accounting profession in the discharge of their duties. The NJI boss noted that financial prudence will promote the purpose of government accounting which is to demonstrate propriety of transactions and their conformity with established rules, norms and restrictions. Justice Bozimo also reminded participants at the workshop of the importance of their roles to the overall success of the judiciary adding that, “your action or inaction can affect the smooth running of the courts and the judicial system as a whole. “I therefore urge you to imbibe integrity, probity, transparency and shun all forms of corruption in the discharge of your duties,” Justice Bozimo urged. Speaking on the theme of the workshop, “Prudent management of judicial resources in the face of economic recession’, the NJI administrator said measures must be put in place to cushion the effect of the economic recession in the judiciary as well. She expressed optimism that the workshop will generate pragmatic solutions towards achieving better management of the resources available to the judiciary during the economic recession. She said, “All hands must be put on deck to ensure that financial managers and officers entrusted with the management of public funds are trained in the new and best practices of management of resources so as to perform their duties optimally”.]]>
