The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) has announced the commencement of registration for its forthcoming Mediation Skills Accreditation and Certification Course scheduled to hold in Lagos State from October 5 to 9, 2026.

The five-day training, which serves as the Institute’s entry-level professional course, is open to professionals from all disciplines and vocations who are interested in acquiring practical mediation and conflict-management skills.
According to the Institute, the programme will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while the course fee has been fixed at ₦350,000.
ICMC said the training is designed to equip participants with practical and behaviourally specific techniques for managing conflicts, improving interpersonal relationships and dealing more effectively with people in both professional and everyday settings.
“Mediation skills are life-skills for building and sustaining relationships,” the Institute said.
It explained that the programme would provide participants with skills capable of improving relationships, professional performance and productivity, while presenting mediation as a practical and “user-friendly” tool for everyday life.
The Institute said the course is not restricted to lawyers or dispute-resolution practitioners, stressing that participation is open to professionals irrespective of their discipline or vocation.
Participants who successfully complete the training and are subsequently inducted into the Institute will qualify to use the professional designation AICMC, meaning Associate Member, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators.
The Institute also encouraged its existing members to share information about the programme with family members, friends, colleagues and associates who may be interested in developing mediation and conflict-resolution skills.
The training is scheduled for October 5 to 9, 2026, in Lagos State, and will hold between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.
