The Intellectual Property Institute Nigeria has opened registration for its IP Valuation Certification Programme, scheduled to hold virtually from Wednesday, September 16 to Friday, September 18, 2026.

The three-day programme is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of intellectual property as an economic and commercial asset, with particular emphasis on the valuation, management and strategic use of intellectual property rights and portfolios in business decision-making.

With intellectual property increasingly accounting for a significant proportion of the value of businesses in sectors such as technology, entertainment, media, manufacturing, fintech and the creative industries, the Institute said there is a growing need for professionals who understand how intangible assets can be properly assessed and managed.

The programme will therefore focus on key areas including IP valuation, licensing and strategic portfolio management, equipping participants with practical knowledge on how brands, creative works, technology and other intellectual assets can be evaluated and leveraged commercially.

The certification programme is targeted at legal practitioners, in-house counsel, business executives, entrepreneurs, brand managers, marketing professionals, technology and fintech professionals, creatives and other professionals who work with intellectual property assets.

According to the Institute, the virtual sessions will commence at 11:00 a.m. daily and will be facilitated by certified intellectual property practitioners and experts associated with the organisation.

The registration fee is ₦85,000 for members of the Institute and ₦120,000 for non-members, while group registration discounts are also available.

Interested participants are required to submit their full name, organisation and contact details to certifications@ipinstitute.org.ng. Further enquiries can also be made through 09047777007.

Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive certification from the Intellectual Property Institute Nigeria.
