“Badejo-Okusanya Leads List Of Successful Candidates In 2026 NBA National Elections” — ECNBA Releases Full Results, Turnout Put At 31.86%

The successful candidates in the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association National Officers Elections have been revealed following the conclusion of voting and the release of results by the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association.

The Chairman of the ECNBA, Aham Ejelam, SAN, announced the results at the NBA National Secretariat in Abuja.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, emerged as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association, defeating two other senior lawyers in the presidential contest.

Badejo-Okusanya polled 12,317 votes, representing 47.18 per cent of the total presidential votes cast. Her closest challenger, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, secured 7,934 votes, representing 30.39 per cent, while Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, garnered 5,855 votes, representing 22.43 per cent.

With her victory, Badejo-Okusanya will serve as NBA President for a two-year tenure from 2026 to 2028. She becomes the second woman to lead the Association after Dame Priscilla Kuye, who served from 1991 to 1992.

According to the results displayed on the ECNBA portal and confirmed by the Committee Chairman, 26,184 out of 82,172 registered voters participated in the election, representing a turnout of 31.86 per cent.

The release of the results came amid reactions from some candidates and lawyers over technical glitches, voter turnout and complaints about access to the voting platform during the election.
