The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators has invited qualified professionals to apply for direct admission into its Fellowship Cadre through a two-stage mediation training programme scheduled to hold between July and August 2026.

The programme, which combines virtual and physical training, is designed to equip participants with advanced skills in mediation, conflict analysis and resolution, effective communication, negotiation, cultural competence and professional mediation practice.

According to the Institute, the training will enable successful participants to attain its Fellowship Cadre while strengthening their professional standing, expanding their networks and providing access to mediation practice and mentorship opportunities.

Applicants must be at least 30 years old and possess a minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation, arbitration and conflict resolution, or in a related field.

Legal practitioners seeking admission are required to possess at least 15 years of post-call experience.

Applicants must also provide evidence of significant contributions to the ADR field through publications, casework or training obtained from a reputable ADR institution.

The two-in-one programme will begin with the Foundation Stage, scheduled to hold virtually via Zoom from July 20 to 24, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily.

The Advanced Stage will subsequently take place physically in Port Harcourt from August 24 to 26, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.

The course fee has been fixed at N1.5 million.

The organisers said the programme would help participants develop expertise in advanced conflict resolution, mediation techniques and strategies, while also enhancing their careers and positioning them for greater opportunities in the ADR sector.
