Three suspects arrested in connection with the alleged murder of former Ogun State Television broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, are to be arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The Ogun State Police Command confirmed that the suspects will be brought before Magistrate Court 3, Isabo, Abeokuta, on Monday, July 6, 2026.
The spokesperson for the command, Babaseyi Oluseyi, disclosed this in a statement to journalists.
“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to inform members of the media that the three suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Madam Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard will be arraigned today, Monday, July 6, 2026, at Magistrate Court 3, Isabo, Abeokuta, by 11:30 am,” he said.
The arraignment comes less than two weeks after the police announced the arrest of the suspects over the killing of Oyesiku and Adetayo at the broadcaster’s residence in Abeokuta.
The police had commenced investigation after residents raised an alarm over suspicious activities around the deceased’s residence.
Detectives who visited the scene reportedly found signs of forced entry and disturbance.
Adetayo’s body was discovered at the security post, while Oyesiku’s corpse was later found inside the house.
Her Lexus RX330 vehicle, which was initially reported missing, was subsequently recovered during the investigation.
At an earlier press briefing, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, said investigators made a breakthrough after recovering a note inside the stolen vehicle.
According to him, the note was subjected to forensic analysis and eventually led to the arrest of the prime suspect.
The police identified the prime suspect as 22-year-old Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, who was arrested on June 24 at a construction site in Ibara, Abeokuta, where he was reportedly working as a labourer.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two other suspects, Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, a security guard, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36, a bricklayer.
Ojajuni said Philip allegedly confessed to coordinating the attack because of grievances he had with Oyesiku while working as her security guard.
The police alleged that the suspects overpowered Adetayo before using him to gain access to Oyesiku’s residence, where both victims were allegedly killed.
The stolen Lexus RX330 was later recovered through intelligence-led and technical tracking operations in the Onikolobo area of Ogun State.
The command also said exhibits, including a broken hammer, a cutlass, a plank and a black pen, were recovered from locations linked to the suspects.
Police authorities said the suspects had made useful statements and that substantial evidence had been recovered.
The command, however, said the suspects remain entitled to due process, adding that investigation would continue to ensure diligent prosecution of all persons connected with the crime.
The allegations remain claims until determined by the court.
