The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Tuesday adjourned the arraignment of Nollywood actress Doris Ogala to October 28, 2026, after she again failed to appear in court over alleged cyberstalking and bullying of Pastor Chris Okafor.

The matter came up before Justice Akintayo Aluko, but the arraignment could not proceed following Ogala’s absence, which her lawyer attributed to ill health.

This is the second time the 34-year-old actress has failed to appear for her scheduled arraignment.

Ogala is facing a four-count charge filed by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, DPPF, under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Amendment Act, 2024.

Her former counsel, Temiloluwa Akindayini, told the court that the actress had undergone surgery and submitted two affidavits in support of the claim.

He pleaded with the court for an adjournment and assured that Ogala would be present on the next adjourned date, adding that the prosecution would not suffer any disadvantage.

However, prosecution counsel, Mokolu, reluctantly conceded to the adjournment but raised concerns over the medical report presented by the defence.

According to the prosecutor, the report described Ogala as an outpatient who had already been discharged.

Mokolu alleged that despite claiming ill health, the actress was strong enough to campaign, participate in her state’s party primary election, win and celebrate the outcome, only to become unavailable when it was time to appear in court.

He warned that if Ogala fails to appear on the next adjourned date, the prosecution would apply for a bench warrant against her.

“If by the next adjourned date she is not in court, I will be asking for a bench warrant,” Mokolu said.

The charges against Ogala allege that between September 2024 and March 2026, she published nude and intimate photographs of Pastor Chris Okafor on social media without his consent.

The prosecution also alleged that she shared videos and messages containing false allegations that the pastor raped his wife, engaged in ritual practices and was responsible for the death of another person.

She is further accused of disseminating content allegedly intended to bully, threaten and harass the clergyman across online platforms.

Another count alleges that Ogala threatened to continue publishing damaging materials unless Pastor Okafor compensated her or bought her a house.

The court adjourned the matter to October 28, 2026, for arraignment.
