Nnaebuka Nwaeze has congratulated the Nigerian Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Forum (YLF) on the successful hosting of its 2026 National Summit, marking the Forum’s 20th anniversary.

In a goodwill message, Nwaeze described the summit, held in Port Harcourt from April 22 to 24, 2026, as a significant milestone in the development of young legal practitioners in Nigeria.

He noted that the theme of the summit, “Rising to Lead,” serves as a strong call to action for young lawyers to prepare for the leadership responsibilities inherent in the legal profession.

According to him, the evolving global landscape continues to place increasing demands on legal practitioners, requiring them not only to understand the law but also to provide leadership across business, political, and social spheres.

Nwaeze emphasized that young lawyers, as custodians of the future of the legal profession and society at large, must position themselves to adapt to rapid changes and remain relevant in shaping governance and regulation.

He commended the leadership of the YLF, particularly Chairman Timothy Clement, as well as the Summit Planning Committee led by Precious Abi, for what he described as a successful and impactful outing.

He stated that the summit has helped to rekindle the commitment of young lawyers to aspire to higher standards of leadership and professional excellence.

Nwaeze further reiterated the role of the NBA Secretariat in supporting and guiding young lawyers to achieve their full potential, urging continued focus on service and mentorship within the legal community.

The NBA YLF Summit remains one of the flagship gatherings for young legal practitioners in Nigeria, providing a platform for mentorship, capacity building, and professional networking.
