A legal practitioner and entrepreneur, Emeka Silas Agbara, popularly known as Ikenga Eha-alumona, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Nsukka/Igboeze-South Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, unveiling an expansive “Hope-House 2027” agenda focused on youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and grassroots development.

Agbara, who serves as Secretary of the NBA Legal Entrepreneurship Committee and Administrator of the Lawyers in Business Institute (LIBI), also pledged strong support for Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, commending his “unmatched and unparalleled achievements” in governance.

In his declaration, addressed to traditional rulers, elders, stakeholders, and youths across the Igbo-Nsukka cultural zone, Agbara delivered a deeply personal narrative of his life journey, tracing his rise from humble beginnings as a houseboy in Onitsha and an “ice water” seller, through his education at CPS Eha-Alumona and CHS Umabor under scholarship support, to his relocation to Abuja over two decades ago where he began life as a taxi driver.

He recounted how mentorship and community support shaped his path, citing figures such as the late Engr. Edmund Ugwu, who guided him to register his first company in 2008, and other benefactors who supported his early days in Abuja. He also highlighted his exposure to solar energy business, which became a defining point in his entrepreneurial journey and later positioned him within legal business innovation circles.

Agbara further detailed his academic and professional growth, including his legal education at the University of Abuja under the mentorship of Professor Uwakwe Abugu, his call to the Nigerian Bar, and his service within the Nigerian Bar Association, including roles in the Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) and as Treasurer of Otu Oka-Iwu (Igbo Lawyers Association), Abuja. He also noted his membership of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry and his position as a Senior Associate at M.I Dikko SAN & Associates.

Reflecting on his political experience, Agbara recalled his 2023 bid for the Enugu State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), where he won his Eha-Alumona ward despite strong opposition from dominant political forces, describing the support he received as a testament to grassroots acceptance.

Presenting his legislative agenda, he said the Hope-House 2027 mandate would prioritise innovative and courageous representation, establishment of the Adada Skills, Technology and Business Development Centre, expansion of free urban accommodation and skills acquisition programmes for youths which he said have been running since 2008, and scaling up of interest-free loans and grants for startups under his Making Millionaires Project launched in 2019.

He also outlined plans for empowerment initiatives, rural infrastructure development, smart farming and agro-business expansion, job creation, and increased youth inclusion. In addition, he proposed a “Sabificate-to-Certificate” scheme designed to integrate vocational entrepreneurship with formal education pathways.

Agbara emphasised that many of these initiatives are already in operation and have been tested over more than 22 years, stressing that his ambition is to scale them up through legislative backing and access to public resources.

He concluded by appealing for support, guidance, and prayers from constituents, expressing confidence that his track record, practical ideas, and community-driven approach position him to deliver effective representation and broaden development opportunities across Nsukka/Igboeze-South Federal Constituency.
