The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has announced the commencement of the 2026 nomination opening exercise, inviting members of the Bar to participate virtually in the process.

In an official communication sent to members of the Nigerian Bar Association, the committee confirmed that the exercise will involve the opening of sealed envelopes containing nomination forms and supporting documents for the 2026 NBA general elections.

According to the notice, the virtual session will hold on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. prompt, with a Zoom link provided to enable members to join remotely.

The ECNBA stated that the exercise marks a key phase in the build-up to the association’s forthcoming elections, urging members of the legal profession to actively participate and observe proceedings.

It also directed members to follow updates through its official website, noting that transparency and inclusiveness remain central to the electoral process.

The committee is chaired by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Aham Ejelam, with Aliyu Nassarawa Esq serving as Secretary.

The NBA election process is widely regarded as a major event within Nigeria’s legal community, often attracting significant interest from practitioners across the country.
