The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Warri Branch, has announced its Webinar Series 8.0, featuring a fireside chat with legal luminary Chief T.J.O. Okpoko, OON, FCIArb., SAN, themed “Successfully Navigating the Peculiarities of the Legal Profession.”

The virtual event, which comes with one free Continuing Professional Development (CPD) point, will hold on Thursday, November 13, 2025, by 3:00 PM (WAT) via Zoom. The session opens at 2:45 PM (WAT).

According to the organizers, the fireside chat aims to provide deep insights into the legal profession through the reflections of Chief Okpoko, a nonagenarian who has been in active legal practice for over 55 years.

Chief Okpoko is renowned for his remarkable career spanning courtroom advocacy, corporate law, bar politics, and the regulation of the legal profession. The discussion is expected to draw on his extensive experience highlighting both triumphs and setbacks to equip participants with practical wisdom and timeless perspectives for advancing their legal careers.

“The expectation is that the learned silk’s perspectives will bequeath practitioners with ancient wisdom, nuanced knowledge, pristine resources, and esoteric awareness needed to enhance their practice,” the statement noted.

The session will be hosted by John Aruoture, Chairman of the NBA Warri Webinar Committee and a former Secretary of the branch.

The NBA Warri Branch emphasized that the chat is relevant to all categories of lawyers whether in litigation, corporate and commercial practice, in-house counsel, or the public sector describing it as “a must-attend session for those seeking to drink from the cup of wisdom of a nonagenarian with over half a century of active practice.”
