Nigerian actress Regina Daniels has unleashed a torrent of explosive allegations against her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, in a lengthy social media post that has sent shockwaves through Nollywood and beyond.

The 25-year-old star, known for her roles in films like Plantain Boy, accused the 64-year-old Delta State politician of physical and emotional abuse, coercive drug use, and fabricating mental health issues to control her. This comes just days after Nwoko publicly claimed Daniels and her family were drug addicts, amid reports of her filing for divorce.

In her raw, unfiltered Instagram post timestamped at 00:12 on November 9, Daniels dismissed Nwoko’s drug accusations as a “distraction” from the “real issue” her desire to end the relationship. “Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” she wrote, before pivoting to more harrowing claims. She alleged that Nwoko encouraged her drug use, telling her it made her “sexier,” “wild,” and “romantic exactly how you wanted me to be.” Daniels further accused him of sexual assault, writing, “Why don’t you tell them how you force yourself on me whenever I say no?”

The post detailed a pattern of alleged isolation and manipulation: “The moment I say I no longer want to be in this relationship, you… seize my phones, lock me up, and get doctors to inject me with drugs meant for people with bipolar disorder.” She claimed that once she relented and agreed to stay, Nwoko would “restore my freedom” and drop the mental instability narrative. Daniels also questioned why “all your wives and ex-wives are on drugs,” implying a broader pattern in Nwoko’s relationships.

Daniels emphasized there was never a legal marriage, stating, “I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us. We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed.” She concluded with a defiant plea: “Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force. Stop trying to control what no longer belongs to you!”

The allegations intensified when Daniels’ brother, Lawrence, shared an audio recording purportedly featuring Nwoko admitting to physical violence. In the clip, a voice identified as Nwoko’s boasts about slapping his wife during a confrontation with Lawrence in the UK. “I’ll say that [I slapped her] anywhere,” the voice declares, even in a courtroom. Lawrence captioned the post, daring Nwoko to deny the admission, tying it directly to Daniels’ domestic violence claims.

This audio drop follows reports of family arrests allegedly orchestrated by Nwoko, including Daniels’ brother and sister.

Adding layers to the polygamous household’s turmoil, Nwoko’s Moroccan wife, Laila Charani – who reconciled with him after her own 2021 separation   posted a vacation video with their son, captioned: “Too busy building my peace, my life, and my family – no time for anything less.” The subtle shade comes amid Nwoko’s past accusations against Charani of infidelity, child neglect, and violence, which she countered with leaked messages demanding a forced apology. Charani’s post, shared as the Daniels-Nwoko saga unfolds, hints at lingering tensions in the senator’s multiple marriages.

The couple, who married traditionally in 2019 when Daniels was 18, have three children together. Rumors of discord surfaced earlier this year over property disputes, with Daniels allegedly seeking name changes on assets bought during the marriage. Nwoko’s initial response to divorce whispers was to label Daniels a drug abuser, prompting her emotional breakdown on social media: “I feel like I’m going crazy, I have to go back.”
