The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lokoja Branch, has inaugurated its new leadership as S.A Abbas was sworn in as Chairman following a keenly contested election, defeating A.O Jonathan Esq.

The inauguration ceremony, held on 25th September 2025 at K Galaxy Events Centre, Lokoja, also marked the official end of the previous administration and the commencement of the 2025 NBA Lokoja Law Week. Certificates of return were issued to the newly elected executive members, who will serve for the 2025–2027 tenure.
The NBA Lokoja Branch executives inaugurated are:
- S.A Abbas – Chairman
- M.S Inuwa – Vice Chairman
- F.O Ekpa – Secretary
- M.A Omada – Assistant Secretary
- A.F Ademu – Financial Secretary
- F.M Sidi – Treasurer
- F.O Usman – Publicity Secretary
- O.G Aleji – Social Secretary
- A.J Aboyewa – Welfare Secretary
Hon. Justice Suleiman Abdullahi of the High Court of Kogi State administered the oath of office to the Chairman and all executive members. In his acceptance speech, S.A Abbas Esq. pledged to elevate the branch to new heights and strengthen its impact in the legal community.
A highlight of the ceremony was the Award of Excellence presented to past chairmen and distinguished leaders of the bar, including Liman Salihu Esq., fondly referred to as “the Lionel Messi of the branch.”
The opening of the Law Week featured a goodwill message by Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro SAN, while Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okunsanya delivered the dinner talk, emphasizing the theme of the week: “Bar and Bench Synergy.”
