The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the full digitization of its Letter of Good Standing application process, offering members faster access and greater convenience through its online portal.

In a statement, the Association explained that members can now apply by logging into the NBA portal and navigating to the Digital Centre tab on their dashboard. Under the Letter of Good Standing option, two sections are available — New Application and Application History.

By selecting New Application, members will see their personal details automatically pre-filled in a non-editable format. Applicants are then required to enter the recipient organization’s details with accuracy before proceeding.

The portal also allows applicants to review their submissions prior to making payment. After successful payment, members are redirected to the Application History section to monitor the status of their request.

Once approved, the system updates the application status to Approved. A copy of the Letter of Good Standing is then sent directly to the recipient’s email, while members can also download a copy from their dashboards.

Key Features of the Process

  • Each member is entitled to a maximum of two Letters of Good Standing per year.
  • The process is fully automated, eliminating manual delays.
  • Both applicants and recipient organizations benefit from instant email delivery.

The NBA stressed that the innovation aligns with its broader commitment to efficiency, transparency, and improved service delivery for lawyers across Nigeria.
