The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) has announced the formation of a high-powered Conference Planning Committee (CPC) ahead of its 2025 Annual Conference, scheduled to hold in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, from November 18 to 21.

In a press release dated September 3, 2025, and signed by the NBA-SPIDEL Chair and Secretary, the CPC is chaired by Assoc. Prof. Uju Agomo, President and Founder of Prisons Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA), with Paul Daudu, SAN, serving as Alternate Chair. Enome Amatey, Chairman of NBA Calabar Branch, has been appointed as Secretary of the Committee.

The conference follows the rebirth of NBA-SPIDEL under the leadership of NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, with a Transition Committee chaired by Prof. Paul Ananaba, SAN, and Okey Ohagba, Esq., as Secretary. The committee’s mandate included rejuvenating NBA-SPIDEL as a vital public interest section, organizing a robust Annual Conference, and conducting council elections.

At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on August 28, 2025, at ICC Enugu during the NBA-AGC, members approved Akwa-Ibom State as the host state for the 2025 conference and ratified the composition of the CPC.
