The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on Thursday announced 16 technology firms as certified service providers to assist taxpayers in onboarding its e-invoicing platform ahead of the November 1, 2025 deadline.

The companies, certified by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) for their technical capacity, were unveiled by FIRS Acting Director of Tax Automation, Mike Adoga, during a two-day workshop on the e-invoicing solution in Lagos.

The certified service providers include Pasca Technology Limited, Hoptool Technology Limited, Etranzact International Plc, Telepac Africa Nigeria Limited, Cryptware System Limited, Namiri Technology Nigeria Limited, Ace of Spedes Consult Nigeria Limited, Jureb Business Solutions Limited, Qucoon Limited, Courteville Business Solutions, Softrust Technologies Limited, Westmetro Limited, Arca Payments Company Limited, and Remita Payment Limited.

Adoga explained that the companies met requirements including nationwide service capacity, security, neutrality, and cross-sector performance. He emphasized that taxpayers are free to choose any service provider and can switch providers if services are unsatisfactory, noting that FIRS would delist any company that breaches standards.

“If any of them is not compliant for whatsoever reason, you have the choice to change, and then let us know as FIRS,” Adoga said.

Over 1,000 companies have already been onboarded since the platform went live on August 1, 2025, representing 20% of the target, according to FIRS Chief of Staff Tayo Koleosho. MTN, IHS, and Huawei are the first firms to go live on the system.

Acknowledging challenges in adoption, Koleosho announced a three-month extension of the onboarding and transmission deadline to November 1, 2025, urging companies to comply promptly.

The workshop also provided guidance on taxpayer enablement, integration processes, and real-time invoice transmission, while introducing certified service providers and hosting live technical demonstrations.

The FIRS e-invoicing system, also called the Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS), replaces paper-based and unstructured electronic invoices with structured digital invoices, aiming to improve tax compliance, streamline processes, and enhance transparency for Business-to-Business (B2B), Business-to-Consumer (B2C), and Business-to-Government (B2G) transactions.
