The family of former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Olumide Akpata, has officially announced the funeral arrangements for his late father, Dr. Henry Omorogieva Akpata, who passed on recently.

In a statement signed by Olumide Akpata on behalf of the family, the Akpata family expressed gratitude to God for a life well lived and shared details of the upcoming rites of passage.

The funeral ceremonies will begin with a Service of Songs on Thursday, 15th May 2025, at Uyi Grand Marquee, located at 9 Aghayubini Street, Off Adesuwa Girls Grammar School Road, G.R.A., Benin City, starting at 4:00 p.m.

This will be followed by the Funeral Service on Friday, 16th May 2025, at United Baptist Church, 45 Mission Road, Benin City, commencing at 10:00 a.m., after which interment will take place.

A reception will follow at Cathelea Convention Center, 2 Aiyanyo Omoigui Way, Off 2nd Ugbor Road, G.R.A., Benin City, from 2:00 p.m.
