The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called on its members to submit nominations for the appointment of six new judges to the Federal High Court.

This comes following an official communication from the Honourable Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John T. Tsoho, regarding the need to fill these positions.
In a statement released by the NBA’s Publicity Secretary, Bridget Edokwe, the association urged its members to identify and nominate qualified candidates from the specified states of Cross River, Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, Nasarawa, Sokoto, and Zamfara.
The NBA emphasized the importance of ensuring that all nominees meet the necessary qualifications, experience, and ethical standards required for appointment to the Bench of the Federal High Court.
The NBA’s role in this process is to recommend suitable candidates to the Honourable Chief Judge, in line with the National Judicial Council (NJC) Guidelines and Procedural Rules for the appointment of Judicial Officers.
Members are expected to submit their nominations to the NBA Secretariat on or before Monday, 24th March 2025, to allow for timely collation and forwarding to the Chief Judge before the final deadline of Monday, 31st March 2025.
