The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has invited all candidates vying for positions in the upcoming 2024 NBA general elections to attend a consultative meeting on the campaign and election process.

In a letter dated [undated] and signed by the ECNBA Chairman Oluseun Abimbola SAN and Secretary Huwaila Muhammad Ibrahim, the committee stated that the meeting is aimed at “fostering dialogue and collaboration among all candidates to ensure a rancor-free campaign and fair and transparent election process.”

The consultative meeting has been scheduled to hold on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 2 pm prompt at the NBA Institutes Building in Garki, Abuja.

Candidates have been directed to confirm their attendance by close of business on June 7, 2024, via the provided contact number or email address.

This move by the ECNBA comes amid concerns raised by some candidates and stakeholders over potential irregularities and lack of transparency in the electoral process.

The leading contender for the NBA presidency, Tobenna Erojikwe, had recently written a strongly-worded letter demanding strict adherence to constitutional provisions and open dialogue to safeguard the integrity of the elections.
