The Nigerian Bar Association, Idemili Branch has announced the release of its Secretary, C.J.S. Azoro, Esq., who was kidnapped just a week after his wedding.

Mr. Azoro was held captive by his abductors for 16 harrowing days, causing significant distress to his family, colleagues and the entire legal community.

In a statement, the NBA Idemili Branch said preliminary information indicates Mr. Azoro is well and unharmed after his ordeal. “We thank everyone for their prayers, support and solidarity during this difficult period,” the statement read.

The Branch extended its gratitude to the Nigerian Bar Association, the Anambra State legal community, members of the Idemili Branch known as the Fountain Bar, and all those involved in securing Mr. Azoro’s release. “Your efforts and unwavering commitment to justice and good governance have been invaluable,” it said.

The NBA has requested privacy for Mr. Azoro and his family as they recover from the traumatic kidnapping experience. Further details are expected to be provided as the investigation continues.

“We continue to stand united as a community, advocating for the rule of law and protection of human rights,” said Chukwubuikem Obianyo, the Publicity Secretary, speaking on behalf of the Idemili Branch.
