The judge refused the plea of mercy by defence counsel, Kingsley Nnonye, maintaining that provisions of the law are clear that the offences are capital offences. The judge however discharged two car dealers: Umar Sani and Sarki Ado-Abubakar, who were charged for receiving the stolen vehicle, from the offences because they were presented with original documents of the car. The convict and his accomplice allegedly shot and killed the pastor around Sun City Estate, Abuja as armed with prohibited firearm on July 8, 2014 while he parked to make a phone call. They allegedly dispossessed him of his Toyota Sienna, Gold coloured car with registration number: GWA 873 DR and chassis number: STDZK22C175055441.
