An alleged impersonator claiming to be a legal practitioner, identified as D.A Amadi, was apprehended at Isiokpo Customary Court in Rivers State on Wednesday.
NBA Isiokpo Branch Chairman witnessed Amadi appear in court, prompting an intervention about his illegitimate status.
When officials searched records, Amadi’s name was not found as a called lawyer. Police subsequently arrested him amid resistance. At the station, Amadi admitted he is yet to be formally called to Nigerian Bar.
The NBA Chairman had filed complaints over time suspecting Amadi’s unlawful legal practice.
Today’s events followed Amadi’s appearance on Monday at another court. Investigations are now ongoing after statements from the Chairman and witnesses.
