The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has introduced NIN verification for all lawyers on its portal and mobile app.

NBA revealed that the step aims to ensure sanctity of data and add security to the proposed NBA ID Card system.

Here is a simple 4-step process to link your NIN:

Step 1: Generate a Virtual NIN (VNIN) using the USSD code 3463Your NIN471335#. You will receive the VNIN via SMS.

Step 2: Note down the VNIN which looks like FS393939393939ZS. It is one-time use and expires in 72 hours.

Step 3: Visit the NBA Portal or Mobile App and enter your VNIN to submit it.

Step 4: You will receive a confirmation email with your new NBA ID number once submitted.

Linking your NIN is important for identity verification and security within the legal profession. Lawyers are advised to complete this process at the earliest to comply with NBA guidelines. Reach out to NBA helplines for any assistance.
