*Unveils SLP Theme As Registration Commences

The Nigerian Bar Association(NBA), has advised lawyers to avail themselves with legal international best practices to enable them handle the nature of crimes across the globe.

The Chairman Of The NBA-Section On Legal Practice Annual General Conference Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, made this known in Abuja to commemorate the world press conference preparatory to the annual general conference of the section slated for 16th to 19th June, 2023.

The theme of this year’s annual conference which will at the NBA National Secretariat(NBA House), Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, is “LEGAL PRACTICE WITHOUT BOARDERS: GETTING RIGHT” .

He said the conference became necessary to enable the NBA to train lawyers to keep them abreast of the legal profession across the world.

Ogbole said the conference, which will pay attention to training young lawyers, will host legal practitioners and experienced judges globally to improve their knowledge of legal practice.

“Nigerian lawyers must be equipped to play at international level and this cannot be achieved without colleagues being taught the rules and practice of across boarder practice in the daily evolving global village.“

While urging young lawyers to take advantage of the training gave a detailed account of the programme of event.

Additionally, he declared the Conference’s registration site open and invited both attendees and lawyers to log in, register, and take advantage of the early bird registration cost savings.

He expressed his gratitude to NBA President YC Maikyau OON, SAN, for providing the NBA auditorium free of charge.

The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice (NBA – SLP), which was established on December 9th, 2004, was established primarily to improve the legal profession to meet the needs of the 21st century and to reposition members to embrace the changes occasioned by globalization, information technology, and economic developments in Nigeria, according to Ogbole SAN, speaking on the mandate of SLP.
