The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has not suspended a young female lawyer identified as Ifunanya, contrary to claims.

Reports since last weekend claimed she was sanctioned over photos showing her either unclad or smoking marijuana.

Some believe the actions of Ifunanya, who was called to bar last year, are not good for the image of the legal profession in Nigeria.

But others, mostly females, say she hasn’t committed any offence, since she is also a model showcasing art in her own style.

The young lady is unarguably one of the most catfished persons in the country with multiple social media accounts bearing her images.

Recall that in Oct 12, 2022 she told TheNigeriaLawyer that she was not a Gangster, that the picture with a cuban cigar was for modelling purposes, and not for her Call to Bar Celebration.

In an chat with TheNigerialawyer on Wednesday, National Publicity Secretary of the NBA confirmed that she has not been penalised.

He said the information suggesting an action has been taken is entirely false.

“NBA has not discussed her issue at all. “We will issue a position on the matter.

“As it stands now we have not suspended her, we have not,” he added.
