The President of the Nigerian Bar Association Olumide Akpata, on behalf of the Association has congratulated the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Folake Solanke, SAN.

The president said he is offering bountiful praise to God Almighty, on the joyous and very auspicious occasion of your 90th birthday anniversary.
This was contained in a goodwill message by the president, thank God for blessing her with another year in good health.
“We consider it more than mere coincidence that your birth month coincides with the month set aside to celebrate both the International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day.
“We are therefore not surprised at the stellar career and indeed amazing life that you have had so far.
“We are also extremely proud of the nobility and dignity with which you have continued to carry yourself.
“Learned Silk, you are without doubt a true icon and we, the members of your beloved professional family, are deeply inspired by you.
“It is therefore with great pleasure that I hereby, formally convey to you the decision of the National Executive Council of the NBA (NBA-NEC) to name after you, the building which houses the NBA Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
“The said building, which is located in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, is henceforth to be known as Chief Folake Solanke, SAN Building.
“The NBA-NEC Resolution to this effect was passed at an Emergency Meeting of the Council which was held in Abuja on 18th March 2022 and it is in recognition of your trailblazing and very significant contributions to the
growth and development of the legal profession in Nigeria and also to the overall development and improvement of society both at home and abroad.
“I shall in due course, with your kind permission, release details of the activities which we intend to hold in celebration of your landmark birthday anniversary and the formal unveiling of the Chief Folake Solanke, SAN Building.
“Our dear Matriarch of the Bar, on the occasion of your 90th birthday anniversary, we pray that you shall only know the joy, peace, and happiness that comes with a life well lived and we also pray that God Almighty will continue to keep you for us in good health and in soundness of mind and body.
