*Declares NBA Kano 2022 Law Week Open

The 2022 Law week of the Nigerian Bar Association, Kano branch was officially declared open on Monday, 21st of March, 2022 by the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
In his speech delivered at the opening ceremony by his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Ganduje reassured the NBA of the resolve of the government to continue supporting lawyers in the state by providing an enabling environment for the discharge of their work effectively.
He equally commended the State branch of the NBA for successfully organising the Law Week event, lauding the immense efforts put together to ensure the success of the week.
Also speaking at the event, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN who was represented by the Special Assistant to the President on Public Prosecution, Rabi’u Yusuf Hausawa warmly felicitated with the Kano branch of the NBA on the occasion of its law week and also used the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of the AGF to ensure justice for all Nigerians.
Sharing thoughts on the theme of the law week during his opening remakrks,the Chairman of Kano Branch of the NBA, Aminu Sani Gadanya said the theme: “Legal Practice At Crossroads: Challenges of Lawyering in the face of Nigeria’s current political and economic climate” is aimed at identifying the challenges faced by lawyers in the current situation of the country and also look into the role and opportunities lawyers have.
The event was attended by Judges of the Court of Appeal Kano, Chief Judge of Kano State Justice Nura Sagir Umar,A legal luminary Prof.Auwalu Hamisu Yadudu, Former NBA President Abubakar Balarabe Mahmud, Commissioners for Justice for Kano and Jigawa States respectively among others.
