An Upper Area Court in Kubwa, ordered that a 25-year-old Point of Sale, PoS, operator, John Sunday, who pleaded guilty to misappropriating N334, 600 be remanded in a correctional centre.

The Judge, Abdullahi Jibril gave the order after Sunday pleaded guilty to criminal breach of trust, misappropriation and cheating.

Mr Jibril, however, adjourned the case until Oct.6 for sentencing.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, John Okpa, told the court that the complainant, Ugochukwu Akadonye, reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station on Sept. 23.

Mr Okpa said that the complainant employed Sunday as a PoS operator to make cash transfers and withdrawals for customers at his shop located at Phase IV, Kubwa, Abuja.

He further said Sunday fraudulently misappropriated and converted N334,600 to his personal use, adding that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 312, 309 and 322 of the Penal Code.

Mr Sunday who pleaded guilty told the court that he was defrauded and had told the complainant to give him till December ending to pay up. NAN
