The funeral arrangements of Mr. Dafe Akpedeye SAN, OFR, C.Arb, KSM, has been announced by the family.

The final rites for the former Attorney General of Delta State includes;

Thursday, 5th November 2020;
A vigil mass at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Effurun, Warri, Delta State. (4pm prompt). A night of tribute is also scheduled for 6pm at the same venue.

Friday, 6th November 2020.
Valedictory CouHighrt Session, at the Court Complex, Effurun, Warri, Delta State.
While the funeral mass (and reception) is fixed for 12pm.

Similarly, the Effurun Branch Chairman of the NBA, has notified the public of the valedictory Court Session, “We wish to invite you to the funeral ceremonies for our deceased Leader, Dafe Akpedeye, OFR, SAN, C.Arb., KSM, outlined as above. The valedictory Court session will hold on Friday, 6 November, 2020 at the High Court, Effurun.” The invite reads.

For well-wishers and sympathizers who may not be able to attend the event physically are encouraged to be part of the event via virtually, either through YouTube or Zoom

The late Dafe Akpedeye SAN, OFR, FCIArb was until his demise, the Managing Partner of Compos Mentis Chambers, a leading indigenous law firm in Nigeria. He was also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and a UK-qualified Chartered Arbitrator and a CEDR Certified Mediator. The learned silk had over 35 years of legal practice experience under his belt, from Litigation, Arbitration, Mediation to a record-breaking performance in Oil, Gas and Energy Law.

Among other prestigious positions held, he had served as the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Delta State, Nigeria (2007 -2009). He was an Accredited Tutor of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (2000 -2020), and a Senior Law Lecturer, Delta State University, Nigeria (1997 – 2020).

May his gentle soul rest in peace, and may the Almighty, grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss. Amen.
