The attempt made by hoodlums to set Onitsha High Court on fire was on Thursday foiled by the men of the Nigeria Police Force, Onitsha Area Command.

Our correspondent garnered that the hoodlums had made frantic efforts towards setting the Court ablaze but by virtue of the Police intervention, the move was repelled.

However, TheNigeriaLawyer learnt that the hoodlums broke window glasses and successfully set two vehicles on fire in the premises of the Court.

TheNigeriaLawyer confirmed through pictures made available to it that the High Court wasn’t set ablaze apart from the destroyed items aforesaid.

Recall it was earlier reported that Onitsha High Court was set ablaze by hoodlums but a confirmed report shows it wasn’t set on fire but the smoke emanating from the Court premises was due to the two vehicles that were set ablaze by the hoodlums.

Also, the hoodlums were chanting in Igbo language thus: “Onitsha no dey carry last, dey go do their own thing”.
