President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the removal of the Chairman of the Governing Board, Nigerian Copyright Commission, Dr. Tony Clinton Jaja with immediate effect.

This is contained in a letter dated 15th day of October, 2020 with reference number SGF/PS/NCC/668 written by the Solicitor General & Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Mr. Dayo Akpata, SAN which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer.
The Solicitor General noted that the President has directed his removal since 28th day of September, 2020.
“I have been directed to notify you of your removal as the Chairman, Governing Board of the Nigerian Copyright Commission by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, as conveyed vide letter Ref: 59312/V/230 of 28th September, 2020”, he said.
In addition, it was noted that “the removal is with immediate effect” and accordingly, he was “directed to handover all the properties of the Commission” to the Director-General.
“Whilst wishing you success in your future endeavors, please accept the assurances of the warm regards and best wishes of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice”, the letter concluded.
