National Human Rights Commission

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has constituted a Committee to investigate human rights violations allegations against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other Police Units

This was disclosed by the Commission via their Twitter handle and seen by TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL)

Recall that President Buhari had, via the statement of his Special Adviser on Media, Femi Adesina, accepted the 5-point request of the ENDSARS protest including setting up an independent panel to investigate human rights abuses.

Consequently, Hon. Justice Suleiman Galadima JSC (Rtd) has been appointed as Chairman of the Committee and Hilary Ogbonna as Secretary.

Members of the Committee are Andulrahaman Yakubu, Yemi Ademolakun, Chioma Chuka, Prof. Ayo Atsenuwa, Tijani Mohammed, Dr. Uju Agomoh and DIG Ibrahim Lamorde.
