The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Olumide Akpata has called for the unconditional release of all the #EndSARS arrested protesters by the Police and says the Association is committed to partnering with the Police & Civil Society Organizations in investigating crimes committed against the citizens.

He said this in his tweet handle on Sunday which was sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer.

“The @NigBarAssoc welcomes the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) by the Inspector General @PoliceNG.”

Meanwhile, the NBA President further stated that he looks forward to seeing the constitution of an investigative team to review all crimes perpetrated against the citizens by the SARS operatives.

“We now look forward to the constitution of the Investigative Team to review all reports of crimes committed against Nigerians by the defunct Unit and the appropriate punishment of all those found culpable.

“As an organisation anchored on the promotion of rule of law and human rights, the NBA commits to partnering with the @PoliceNG and other Civil Society organisations in these investigations, the NBA President stated.

Finally, he further called for the unconditional release of all the arrested protesters.

“In the meantime, we call for the unconditional release of all Nigerians arrested on account of the #EndSARS protests and the immediate cessation of attacks on protesters.”
