THE Nigerian Body of Benchers has fixed a date for the Call to Bar Ceremonies amidst the pandemic.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mrs. H.A Turaki, Secretary to the Body which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer(TNL), titled “NOTICE OF CALL TO BAR CEREMONIES FOR THE JANUARY 2020 BAR FINAL EXAMINATION (2019/2020 BACKLOG SET).

“This is to notify Members of the Body of Benchers and aspirants to the Bar that the Call to Bar Ceremonies for candidates in the January, 2020 Bar Final Examination is scheduled as follows:

Date: Tuesday, 15th September, 2020

Time: 10:00am prompt

Venue: Eagle Square, Abuja.”

However, it was noted that the choice of Eagle Square is in order to ensure compliance with COVID-19 protocols and guidelines.

“The choice of the Eagle Square was made due to its semblance with the National Stadium since it is an open-spaced facility. It will give room for better ventilation considering the guidelines on curbing the spread of Covid-19 virus.”

However, the Notice noted that only participants would be accommodated while urging Parents and Guardians to watch the live streaming.

“We regret to inform the Parents/Guardians of the aspirants and the General Public that the ceremony is strictly for the aspirants.

“However, Parents/Guardians are advised to watch the ceremony through National Television as there is going to be live streaming of the ceremony on National Television and other social media platforms.”

Finally, Aspirants are warned not to be late to the venue.

“Aspirants should note that they are required to be seated by 8:30 am. Late coming will not be tolerated.”
