The Court of Appeal Jos Division has ruled that Lawyers and Law firms are liable to deduct and remit VAT to the FIRS.

The Law Firm of Al Maseer had challenged VAT assessment on the Law Firm on the ground that legal services are not liable to VAT.

With this judgment, it is expected that our tax offices nationwide should move against all service providers and raise necessary assessments to ensure that we meet our target this year.
