The family of the late Justice Okoi Ikpi Itam together with the Cross River State Ministry of Justice, has released a statement to announce the details of funeral obsequies in honour of late Justice Okoi Ikpi Itam. Justice Itam was until his death, the Chief Judge of Cross River State.

Wed.14/6/2017 – Opening of Mourning House/ Visitation by various groups at hiis Official Residence, Calabar by 8am.

Thurs.15/6/2017 – Night of Tributes/Songs at the Cultural Centre, Calabar by 5:30pm.

Fri.16/6/2017 – Special Court Session at the Judiciary Headquarters by 10am. Vigil continues same day by 6pm at his Country Home, Enongti, Ntankpo, Ugep.

Sat.17/6/2017 – Inter-denominational Funeral Service to be held at the Ugep Township Stadium by 10am. Interment follows immediately at his Country Home, Enongti, Ntankpo, Ugep.

The acting Chief Judge has requested all members of the Bar and Bench, and judiciary workers in the state to attend and pay final respects to the late Chief Judge in accordance with the usual Judiciary tradition. He has also directed that due to the obsequies of the late Chief Judge, all courts across Cross River State shall not sit from Monday, the 12th of June, 2017 to Friday, the 16th of June, 2017.

May the soul of the amiable Justice Okoi Ikpi Itam continue to rest in peace.
