Flogging of suspected bandits unacceptable – NAF

This comes after a video and some pictures were circulated on social media platforms showing some military personnel flogging suspected armed bandits. Spokesman of the Nigerian Airforce, Ibikunle Daramola, said in a statement that their acions were totally unacceptable and not in consonance with the Standing Operating Procedures. He said a Board of Inquiry has been set up by the Headquarters Special Operations Command , to determine the cause of the incident with a view to ensuring that appropriate disciplinary action is taken against the personnel found culpable. He revealed the troops employed unauthorized crude corporal methods in an effort to obtain further information on the bandits plans and the location of their armoury.]]>
