The party said it was unfortunate that Obaseki would rather play politics than take sides with the people of his region in the fight against oppression and tyranny, adding that his decision to shun the meeting had further exposed his political naivety and lack of political sagacity. Chief Dan Osi Orbih, Chairman, Edo State PDP, in a statement, said that Obaseki should know that as a region, South South had been deprived of resources due to it as well as infrastructural and human development. He said that the time had come for Obaseki to identity with his kit and kin in the region and should not be time to play the political ostrich. Orbih, said the Edo PDP would like to let the people know that the people of the state were fully in support of the decision of the South South governors and commended them for their courage to fight tyranny, oppression and persecution. He maintained that Obaseki’s absence at that meeting was not a reflection of the view of the people of Edo State, but a confirmation of his subservience to forces outside the state. “For emphasis, Edo PDP can confirm that Edo people have condemned this assault on the judiciary and are in total support of the resolution reached by the South-south governors,” Orbih stated.]]>
