Akinyemi was arraigned alongside four men, Okedeji Taiwo, 44; Kunle Taiwo, 22; Segun Taiwo, 55; and Kazeem Moyosoye, 37 on a six-count charge of conspiracy, assault, unlawful damage and using dangerous weapon to intimidate other people. The Prosecutor, Sgt. Cyriacus Osuji, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Nov. 19, 2015 at Odofin Village, Ikorodu Area of Lagos State. Osuji said that the accused unlawfully discharged a loaded firearm in a residential house of one Seriki Ayodeji with intent to cause terror to the occupants. He also said that the accused unlawfully damaged Ayodeji’s residential house and injured him. He said that the offences contravened Sections 51, 56 (1) (a) (b), 171, 348 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The accused pleaded not guilty. The Magistrate, Mrs A. T. Omoyele, granted each of the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum. Omoyele said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and their addresses verified.
