Former federal lawmaker at the Federal House of Representative Hon Abass Braimah, yesterday dis-associated himself from the Etsako federal constituency seat of Edo state, declared vacant following the election of the former occupant, Comrade Phillip Shaibu as the Deputy Governor.

He said though he remain active in the politics of the state but will stay away from elective positions for now in order to have time for his family and also concentrate on his business.

According him ” contrary to insinuation, I have made it abundantly and unequivocally clear that am not interested in the seat that has been declared vacant by the National Assembly.

” Like I said when I moved from PDP to the All Progressive Congress, I did not move base on what I will get, but to ensure that Edo remain in the path of progress”

Speaking to newsmen while clearing the air on the speculation that he intent joining the race however added said the constituency requires an individual that is able and altruistic.

” Etsako needs an individual that is passionate about the people, one that is able to connect with the people, an individual that is not deficient in knowledge, deficient in character and deficient in ideas.

“This is because, as a federal legislature, you are the ears and the eyes of the people, the people as a whole cannot all be in Abuja, So, such an individual is given the power to hold the position in trust on their behalf.

“All these elements must be captured within that individual; good education, credibility, a man with integrity and an individual that is not only altruistic but Pro-people.

He however thanked thpeople of Etsako Federal Constituency for the honour giving him the opportunity to represent them in the 6th Assembly adding that it remains a social contract that he cherish and valued.
