The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mohammed Diri in the application is seeking to restrain members of the public, except accredited members of the press from attending the trial. The ‎DPP also asks the court to protect the identities of witnesses in the trial through facial masks. But defence counsel Chuks Momah (SAN) in objecting to the application, argued that it amounts to accusing someone in the open and trying him in the room. He further submitted that the procedure except by the express provision of the National Assembly, does not ‎apply to treasonable felony, unlawful.possession of firearms and belonging to unlawful society but only terrorism cases.
