She also urged them to engage in useful ventures that would bring about even development to the society. According to a statement by the Court of Appeal’s media officer, Mrs. M.K. Sa’adatu, Bulkachuwa gave this admonition while receiving a delegation of Federation of Women Lawyers in her office recently. The statement said Bulkachuwa observed that FIDA as a body could create a fast and tangible solution for a better Nigeria by being innovative. She was quoted as saying, “I have always maintained that women should be appointed on merit rather than on gender basis; work hard for everything you want, don’t expect it to fall down at your door steps.” She advised career women not to neglect their responsibilities on the home front, reminding women lawyers not to forget their primary role which is to be mothers to their children. She emphasised that part of the roles of women was to raise sound individuals that would be useful to themselves and the society. She assured FIDA Nigeria of her continuous support to the organisation as and when due. Speaking earlier, the National President and Country Vice-President of FIDA Nigeria, Mrs. Inime Aguma, thanked Bulkachuwa for the audience she granted the delegation. She assured the appeal court President of FIDA Nigeria’s commitment to the rights of women and girls and the administration of justice in Nigeria. Aguma also commended Bulkachuwa for her support to FIDA Nigeria’s activities and urged her not to relent.. Those who were on Aguma’s delegation included Fatima Okugade, Rhoda Tyoden-Moore, F. Frank-Chukwuani, Oyinade Olatubosun, Tina Ekele, and the Chairperson of FIDA Abuja branch, Amina Agbaje. ]]>
