The presiding judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave the convict an option of N3,000 fine and warned her to desist from committing crime. Mohammed, of Dagba village, Area One, Abuja, was convicted on a two-count charge of criminal trespass and theft.The convict pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy and that it was her first time. Earlier, the prosecutor, Judith Obatomi, had told the court that Felix Omeruo and Ilaya Tenimu, the two security guards at Gwarimpa General Hospital, Abuja, arrested the convict and took her to the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja, on April 27. Obatomi said that on same date, the convict trespassed into the hospital, pretending to be sick and went to one of the wards and stole five cell phones belonging to patients on admission. She said that the convict was caught while trying to board a taxi and the phones were recovered from her during police investigation.
