Daily Law Tips (Tip 490) by Onyekachi Umah, Esq., LLM. ACIArb(UK)
*WHAT IS THE APPROVED TIME FOR CHILD NAMING IN NIGERIA.*
The law protects children at all times. Every Nigerian child has right to a name. It is a RIGHT and there is a legally provided time for child naming in Nigeria.
The lawful and approved time for child naming is at birth of a child or such other date as may be determined by the culture of the child’s parents or guardian.
My authorities are sections 5(1), 277 and 278 of the Child’s Rights Act, 2003.
